You wouldn’t be blamed for thinking that the definition of Horror, these days, is movies the likes of the Saw franchise, because that’s what has been marketed to us. We see flashes of blood, dismembered body parts and we shake in our boots. However, as someone who loves a truly good horror film and story, I know horror to be so much more.
Next up in our line up of author profiles from the Dead of Winter anthology is David J. Gibbs, author of “Spotlight”. His tale revisits the origins of Thanksgiving and throws a twisted little spin on it.
Next up in our line up of author profiles from the Dead of Winter anthology is KT Wagner, who wrote the dystopian thriller “Slipped Stitch”. Next up in our line up of author profiles from the Dead of Winter anthology is Zoey Xolton, author of “Only in Death”. This disturbing dark fantasy tells of a woman desperate to escape the cycle of abuse she’s been subjected to at the hands of a handsome but cruel lord of the Fae.
Next up in our line up of author profiles from the Dead of Winter anthology is Stuart Conover. We first got to know Stuart when we posted our open submissions call to his list on Horror Tree. (If you don’t already subscribe to his list, we recommend it!)
This week, we have Justin Chasteen, author of “The Huntress of Bur”. This story of a bandit raid gone terribly wrong has an awesome twist to it that we just loved. Be sure to read the excerpt we’ve included after the interview to get a feel for this gritty story.
